duo docking system

The duo-system was an intermediate thing between laptop and desktop. The overall system consisted of a stationary and a mobile unit. Worked the user at the desk he pushed the mobile device in a kind of cradle. The dimensions were impressive. Not the macbook air was apple's first notebook. With the powerbook duo launched early in the 90s apple had a notebook in the dimensions of a sheet of paper and less than two kilograms of weight.

Between 1992 and 1997 apple launched the duo models 210, 230, 250, 270c, 280, 280c and 2300c on the market. For criticism caused the small keyboard, text input designed somewhat difficult. Apple first offered models with passive matrix display (210 and 230), but then it turned to the considerably sharper active-matrix displays (250, 280) and color options (270c, 280c, 2300c).
